At the Royal Nairobi Golf Club (RNGC), golf is more than a game. It is a platform for community, connection and positive social impact.
As The Real Home of Golf, we have long opened our course, facilities and community to initiatives that seek to improve the lives of others. From supporting our own club community to hosting charity golf tournaments that bring together golfers, corporates, organisations and development partners, RNGC continues to play its part in giving back to society.
Supporting Our Club Community
Our commitment to social responsibility begins at home.
RNGC has a strong and longstanding relationship with its caddie community. While caddies operate independently of the Club, we recognize their important role in the golfing ecosystem and continue to support their collective welfare while encouraging positive relationships between individual members and their caddies.
Over the years, the Club community has rallied around initiatives supporting caddies and staff, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, when members came together to help vulnerable members of our wider community navigate an exceptionally difficult period.
The Club has also supported initiatives focused on the well-being and development of caddies and staff, including medical outreach and financial literacy engagements. These initiatives reflect a simple principle: a thriving club community must extend beyond the clubhouse and the course.

A Home for Charity Golf
RNGC is also proud to serve as a venue and platform for charitable organizations seeking to mobilize support through golf.
Our members regularly come together to participate in charity tournaments, fundraising events and community initiatives. Through these engagements, the golf course becomes a meeting point where sport and social purpose intersect – bringing together people who want to enjoy the game while contributing to causes greater than themselves.
Recent charity events hosted at the Club include the FIDA-Kenya Charity Golf Tournament, which has used golf to support initiatives advancing access to justice for women and children. The 2026 edition was held at RNGC as part of FIDA-Kenya’s fundraising efforts for its Mediation Centre and broader access-to-justice work.
In July 2026, RNGC also hosted the inaugural BOMA Charity Golf Day, organized by the Kenya High School Alumnae Society Endowment Fund Trust. The tournament brought together approximately 160 golfers to support fundraising for financially vulnerable students and school development projects at Kenya High School.
The Club has likewise hosted the Kenya Red Cross Society Annual Charity Golf Tournament, a longstanding platform that brings together golfers, businesses and humanitarian partners in support of the Society’s work. The 2025 edition, the 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, was held at RNGC under the theme “Care for Carers.”
These are among the many ways in which RNGC continues to make its facilities and community available to organizations pursuing meaningful social causes.

Golf That Gives Back
The causes supported through charity golf at RNGC are diverse, but the underlying purpose remains consistent: using the reach, relationships and generosity of the golfing community to create an impact beyond the fairways. These causes have included:
- Women and girls’ empowerment and access to justice
- Education and support for financially vulnerable students
- Humanitarian response and disaster relief
- Community health and well-being
- Support for vulnerable members of society
- Professional development and mentorship
- Other community-focused charitable initiatives
The Club’s role is not simply to provide a golf course. It is to provide a platform where organizations can bring people together, build relationships and mobilize resources for causes that matter.
Opening the Fairways to Impact
Corporate social responsibility is ultimately about recognizing that institutions have a responsibility to the communities around them.
For RNGC, that responsibility is expressed through action: supporting our caddies and staff, standing with our community in difficult times, opening our facilities to charitable organizations, and using the power of golf to bring people together around worthy causes.
We remain committed to working with charities, Public Benefit Organisations, corporates and community organizations whose work contributes to a healthier, more inclusive and more prosperous society.
