GOLF LAYOUT
Royal Nairobi Golf Club has a standard par of 72 comprising of 10 par 4’s, 4 par 3’s and 4 par 5’s. The course is volatile through out the year depending on the weather. During the rainy seasons, the course plays soft and long and during the dry periods, it plays hard and fast posing different challenges through out the year. The golf course committee continues to improve on the course every year, examples being the building of 8 new USGA standard greens in the past few years. Several holes have also been significantly lengthened over the years.
The introduction of several new water features, bunkers, new tees and the growing of several trees have made those holes tougher and more aesthetic.
PRACTICE FACILITIES
In addition to the golf course, Royal Nairobi Golf Club has one of the best practice ranges in Kenya where one can easily hit a driver while practicing. It has recently been upgraded to a flood lit facility which offers the opportunity for night time practice to both members and guests. Target greens offer quality practice opportunities and good grass cover and good quality practice balls make the practice experience a pleasant one. There is also a practice chipping and bunker shot green allowing those in need of short game practice an area to improve on it.
PRACTICE PUTTING GREEN
The club has a practice putting green close to the club house which is off the same quality and speed that one would find on the golf course. A few putts hit on the green before play might just help put a good score together.
